Man Filmed Girlfriend Having Sex With Dogs, Gets No Jail Time

A 48-year-old businessman accused of filming his girlfriend having sex with his dogs was given no jail time during his hearing Friday at Birmingham Crown Court in the United Kingdom. The man, who also admitted to possessing images of extreme pornography, was fined $4,500, local media reported Sunday.

Last week, police arrived at Wayne Horkan's home and found a video in his computer showing his girlfriend having sex with his dogs. During the raid, authorities also found 1,469 images and 210 videos involving sexual acts with dogs and horses. It remains unclear what happened to the dogs.

Prosecutor Timothy Harrington told the Birmingham Crown Court the bestiality material had been downloaded from the internet between April 2014 and April 2015. Authorities also said they found records of several search terms used to find the animal porn images and videos online.

"Two of the videos, it was readily apparent, involved a woman with whom the defendant had been in a relationship with," Harrington said, according to local media Burmingham Live. "He admitted he got sexual gratification from these films and had watched them on a number of occasions."

While handing over a passing sentence, Judge Melbourne Inman said: "Between 2014 and 2015 you downloaded imagery which it is not necessary to detail again, which are abhorrent... Two of them involved a lady whom you were living with which is an aggravating feature... There is no suggestion at all this was anything other than consensual adult behavior."

The judge also said that while giving the sentencing, he had taken into account the significant delay involved in the case and that there was no repetition of the behavior, U.K.'s Mirror Online reported. The judge added Horkan was an intelligent man who had lost "important" employment as a result of the offense.

Defendant lawyer Lynette McClement said Horkan's initial relationship with the woman had been a professional one although they later got involved in a personal relationship.

"In the course of that relationship his interest in extreme pornography was limited to that timescale. This was a shared interest," Lynette said.

In an incident in the U.S. earlier in April, a Florida man was arrested for engaging in sex acts with a dog. The 27-year-old Ocala resident was charged with two counts of “sexual activity involving animals” and was held at Marion County Jail on a $2,000 bail at the time. During investigation, officers found several videos on the man's phone showing him engaging in sexual activities with a dog. Videos of dogs having sex with women and images of the animals' private parts were also found on the phone.
