In a bizarre incident, a man killed his wife for refusing sex before cutting his own private parts. The incident took place in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning.

Police said the accused, Anwarul Hasan, and his wife, Mehnaz, got into an argument when the latter refused his request for sex. In a fit of rage, Hasan strangled his wife to death before cutting his own genitals. The incident came to light when the neighbors heard screams from the home and peeped from an open window only to find the two lying on the floor. Police arrived at the scene and rushed the couple to the hospital. While the wife was declared brought dead, Hasan was undergoing treatment.

Speaking to local media in the hospital, the accused said, "I got very angry when my wife refused to entertain my request for sex. I strangulated her to death and then cut my own private parts.”

According to local reports, the couple got married a year ago. Hasan worked in the Indian state of Gujarat and had come home just two days before the incident. A case was filed against Hasan after the victim’s father registered a complaint against him. Police said the victim’s body was sent for autopsy and the investigation was ongoing.

In a similar incident in the Indian state of Haryana earlier this year, a man was arrested for killing his wife for refusing sex and hiding her corpse in his employer's house. Rajesh Kumar took his wife to his employer’s home after she told him she was embarrassed to have sex at their home as her father was staying with them. At the employer’s home, the couple got into an argument after she refused to have sex. In a fit of rage, Kumar killed his wife, hid the body in the bed box and fled. The incident came to light five days later when Kumar’s employer smelled something rotting and found the body in the bed box.
