A man in Kazakhstan was sentenced to chemical castration for raping a teen girl in a school toilet.

According to reports, the man, identified only as 38-year-old Valiev, sneaked into the school’s ground to “hunt for a victim.” He then noticed the 12-year-old unidentified victim entering the toilet in the school’s backyard and followed her before raping her. The incident took place in November 2019.

The victim gave a detailed description of the man following which he was taken into custody by the police two hours after the incident.

“The victim confirmed Valiev is the man who sexually assaulted her. He was previously convicted for rape,” police said.

Following the incident, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev demanded for more CCTV cameras to be installed in schools in order to prevent such attacks.

“To prevent further cases of violence against children it is needed to install CCTV cameras in every school and nursery during this year. All educational facilities for children should be equipped with cameras and proper restrooms. What happened in Taraz is a disgrace,” he said.

Meanwhile, the accused was sentenced to undergo chemical castration along with 25 years imprisonment on Jan. 24.
