Manchester United News: Paris FC Coach Believes Red Devils Should Not Sleep On Wonderkid

Manchester United may be looking for more talent although they have some young and promising players from their end.

One of them is Hannibal Mejbri, someone who has already shown potential despite not regularly being on the first team.

The 18-year-old has made just one appearance for the Red Devils so far. This was when Mejbri came in as a late substitute when Manchester United won over Wolverhampton at the end of last season.

But beyond that, the French midfielder has been showing in other matches that he is a player to watch of the future.

He had an impressive stint as part of the Under-23 squad since leaving Monaco in 2019, and most feel he will get more chances under the watch of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Someone familiar with Mejbri is his former youth coach, Reda Bekhti. The Paris FC coach has even likened him to Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, someone who won 11 English Premier League titles when he was with the Red Devils, First Time Finish reported.

"The Premier League requires a lot of athleticism and a strong physical capacity. He can still grow more muscle. If he passes this milestone and does not pick up any injuries, he will win over [Solskjaer] I am sure," Bekhti said. "He can become a future Paul Scholes at Manchester United. He has all the qualities in midfield to become a leader."

The interest in Mejbri is well documented. Before joining the Red Devils, he was on the radar of teams like Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United ended up with him following a £9 million ($11 million) deal. He signed a new long-term deal last March with the Red Devils, Goal reported.

Mejbri could be an option for Solskjaer if Paul Pogba leaves the team.

The Frenchman could be moving out of Old Trafford soon, something that has been constantly mentioned in the transfer rumor mill.

“Hannibal’s a leader. The way he plays his football is 100 miles per hour, he’s non-stop running up and down,” Bekhti stated.
