Maralee Nichols has broken her silence after Tristan Thompson publicly admitted that he fathered her child.

Amid an ongoing paternity lawsuit, the Sacramento Kings star, 30, disclosed the results of a paternity test in a post on his Instagram Story Monday, confirming that he is the father of Nichols' newborn son.

In a statement to multiple outlets, including Us Weekly, a rep for the new mom said, "There was never any doubt that Tristan Thompson was the father of Maralee Nichols’ baby."

"Tristan made numerous false and defamatory statements and declarations about Maralee over the past few months, and she is taking his contrite statement today in the context of all of those statements," Nichols' public relations consultant Harvey Englander continued.

Nichols took legal action against Thompson in June 2021, claiming they conceived a child in March last year. Court documents showed that the NBA player admitted to having sex with the former personal trainer on his birthday in March 2021 while Thompson was dating Khloe Kardashian, with whom he shares 3-year-old daughter True.

In an August 2021 filing, Nichols' lawyers provided alleged text messages from Thompson in which he told her he wouldn't be "involved at all" with the child and appeared to offer her $75,000 to keep quiet about the baby, who was born last month. He has denied writing or sending the alleged messages.

"[By the way], if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money, it's completely wrong. You are aware that I'm retiring after this season. So in terms of support, it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who's unemployed," Thompson allegedly texted her.

The alleged text messages continued, "You [are] better off taking this [$75,000] I'm offering 'cause you won't get [anything] near that with having a kid with a father who's unemployed. All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month."

However, Thompson said in his Monday Instagram Story post that he takes "full responsibility" for his actions and that he plans to "amicably" raise his son with Nichols now that paternity has been established.

He also apologized to those he has "hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately."

Additionally, Thompson issued an apology to Kardashian, writing in a separate Story slide, "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you."

"You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years," he added. "My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

Thompson also shares 5-year-old son Prince with ex Jordan Craig.
