‘Mariah’s World’ Spoilers: Mariah Carey Struggles With Feelings For Bryan Tanaka While Engaged To James Packer
Things are heating up in “Mariah’s World” as the “Butterfly” singer struggles with her feelings for dancer Bryan Tanaka while she's engaged to millionaire James Packer.
In the new teaser released via E! News, Carey and Tanaka share a steamy kiss by the ocean. The singer admitted that she “doesn’t even know anymore” if she still wants to tie the knot with Packer. In the end, she decided: “No matter what happens, I’m going to follow my heart.”
As for Tanaka, he can’t help “catching some hard feelings…[for] Miss Mariah.”
The clip also showed Carey talking to her manager Stella Bulochnikov, who asked her about her upcoming nuptials with Packer. But Carey only answered, “I don’t know.”
“I can see where Tanaka would think he could cross the lines a little bit,” Bulochnikov said. “I’m going to have to keep my eyes on this young man.”
Despite Carey’s thriving love life, the same cannot be said of her career, which took a nosedive after she encountered technical difficulties during “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” last Saturday night.
Fans already noticed something was amiss in the performance while Carey was singing “Auld Lang Syne,” but when it came to the second song, “Emotions,” Carey appeared to be confused since her earpiece wasn’t working properly. She told the audience: “We can’t hear, but I’ll just get through the moment,” Entertainment Weekly reported.
“We didn’t have a [sound] check for this song, so we’ll just say it went to No. 1, and that’s what it is,” she later said on stage.
As the third song “We Belong Together” rolled out, Carey was hopeful that the technical glitches would have been resolved. Unfortunately, things were still messy so she decided to just dance along with her back-up dancers instead of singing.
Later, Carey decided to poke fun at herself on her social media page by posting a GIF of herself shrugging and showing an indifferent expression.
