'Married At First Sight' Star Jamie Otis Shares Secret Of Success In Marriage To Doug Hehner

Jamie Otis revealed her secrets to relationship success after the “Married At First Sight” reunion aired on Sept. 16 via Instagram. Jamie and her husband Doug Hehner met on the FYI docu-series where they entered a blind arranged marriage together. The social experiment aimed to see if someone’s scientific match really was the perfect soul mate. Turns out the wild experiment worked for Jamie and Doug. The reunion special “Married At First Sight: Six Months Later” showed the couple more in love than ever. So what’s their secret?

Jamie posted on her Instagram that although they were married at first sight, it wasn’t love at first sight. Fans, of course, know that Jamie didn’t immediately fall in love with Doug. After not being attracted to him at the wedding, Jamie worried that she made a mistake. However, after a couple weeks, Jamie started to fall for Doug. "It wasn't love at first sight. There wasn't instant chemistry. We built a foundation of respect, loyalty, and friendship. That's how @doughehner & I fell in love," the caption read.

Despite a shaky beginning, Jamie and Doug still started a solid relationship. Doug had to respect Jamie’s many boundaries which included waiting for sex. On the Sept. 16 reunion special, fellow “Married At First Sight” grooms Jason and Vaughn commended Doug for being so respectful of Jamie’s wishes. Doug and Jamie let viewers know that they finally had sex, and Jamie even tweeted about wanting kids.

The labor and delivery nurse told Doug during the reunion special that she was grateful for his loyalty and friendship. Jamie knew that she had a lot of issues to overcome, and it was hard to find someone willing to deal with her baggage. Jamie also mentioned that she would take Doug’s last name soon. According to her Twitter, Jamie Otis will become Jamie Hehner when she receives a ring.

We’re guessing that Jamie and Doug only exchanged standard wedding bands at their ceremony, and Jamie probably wants a diamond.
