'The Marvels': Brie Larson Talks About Upgraded Version Of Carol Danvers In Sequel
Brie Larson, who played Carol Danvers in the first installment "Captain Marvel," has opened up about the upcoming sequel "The Marvels" and how her character is going to be upgraded in the movie.
The 32-year-old actress revealed that she has been vigorously working out in the gym just like Danvers, who was developing her strength in the first installment of the Marvel franchise.
"In the first film she's developing that strength, and so I was developing my own personal strength with this one," Larson told Insider on Thursday. "She's already got more mastery over her powers. She can fly now."
The actress explained how her gym sessions are going to help her with "The Marvels."
"Having my body more limber, more ready for these types of movements like wirework, which I didn't have to do as much on the first one, was the main goal," she explained, hinting fans can expect more stunts in the highly anticipated sequel.
Larson also spoke about her obsession with the workout regime.
"I just started to get kind of obsessed with it," Larson admitted. "When people say like, 'Oh, girls can't do that,' it just makes me wanna do it even more."
"So there were huge accomplishments this time and I just feel like my body's just getting more and more used to this and more and more excited," she added. "Now, it feels weird to not train. I look forward to it."
Larson frequently shares her training videos on social media. She shared a video of her chin-ups and pull-ups on Twitter in December.
The actress shared another video last June that showed her performing one-arm push-ups.
The next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to hit the theaters is "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," which is slated to release on May 6. "Thor: Love and Thunder" will release on July 8. "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will be the last Marvel movie of 2022, which will release on Nov. 11. "The Marvels" is scheduled to release next year.
Besides the Marvel movie, Larson will also appear in the TV series "Lessons in Chemistry," which is based on a novel of the same name.
