Matt Lauer’s Wife Annette Roque Files For Divorce Amid Sexual Assault Scandal?

Matt Lauer’s wife, Annette Roque, may have officially filed for divorce from the former “Today” host.

Roque was seen entering and leaving a law office in New York on Thursday. She was also photographed without her wedding ring. Roque’s father, Henri Roque, told the Daily Mail last week that his daughter doesn’t have any plans to stay married to Lauer.

“She is not going to stay with him and work it out. They are not together trying to work it out,” he said.

After reports swirled that Lauer sexually harassed and assaulted a handful of women in the workplace, there were also speculations that Roque will be divorcing her husband. However, since nothing has been finalized yet, critics thought that Roque was standing behind Lauer amid the ongoing scandal.

But a source told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month that Roque and Lauer are still living in the same house with their three children. “His only focus right now is his family. He’s with them in the Hampton’s and he’s working on keeping a low profile while he deals with his tough situation,” the source said.

On the contrary, another source said that Lauer and Roque’s marriage was already falling apart even before the sexual misconduct allegations were made public. “Matt and Annette lived separately, with Matt spending many nights in his Manhattan apartment,” the source said.

Meanwhile, the New York Post claimed that Roque has reached out to a New York City law firm to guide her with the possible settlement from their split. If Roque and Lauer’s divorce will push through, the former model reportedly wants to make sure that she will get a hefty sum of money.

“The post-nup will likely specify how much Annette would get if they divorce, but she is expected to challenge it given Matt’s earnings since 2006, and given how he has humiliated her. There are also issues over all the property and land they own, both in the Hamptons and abroad,” the source said.

As of late, nothing has been confirmed yet, and it is still unclear whether or not Lauer and Roque will actually end their 19-year marriage.
