Matt Lauer’s Wife ‘Not Going To Stay With Him,’ Says Her Father
Matt Lauer's wife Annette Roque has been keeping a low profile after his “The Today Show” firing due to sexual harassment allegations, but she was spotted out and about in Sag Harbor, New York, on Wednesday, and she was not wearing her wedding ring.
Though Lauer was seen with his wedding ring on just a few days ago when he was taking his son to school, it would make sense that Roque is the one to be without hers as her father, Henri, told DailyMail.com that she doesn’t play to stay with him.
“She is not going to stay with him and work it out,” Henri, who lives near Amsterdam, told the outlet. “They are not together trying to work it out.”
Roque had originally filed for divorce from Lauer in 2006 before dropping it shortly afterwards. Now, her father believes that she might be about to file it once again, 11 years later.
“I have no words for her husband,” Henri said. “What he has done is bad. Everybody feels betrayed.”
She’s been staying at the couple’s home in the Hamptons and has rarely left since the sexual misconduct claims against Lauer came out and he was fired from the NBC morning show.
According to her father, she’s “feeling shocked” and has “sorrow” for her kids, who have to deal with the situation.
“There are also the kids, I don’t know what she’s doing or who they are going to stay with,” Henri said.
He continued: “I feel s**t about the whole thing. The situation is so bad. I have met Matt, he was a nice guy. I feel kind of betrayed. It’s my own daughter.”
While Henri lives in the Netherlands and Roque is in New York, the two stay in touch often on the phone and spoke on Sunday about how she’s doing and where she’s staying.
Though a divorce might be on its way and Roque had originally filed for on in 2006 before rescinding it, the couple has been married for 19 years and share three kids - two sons, Jack and Thijs, and a daughter, Romy.
