Meet The ‘Same Time, Next Christmas’ Cast: How You Know The Actors
ABC is getting into the spirit of the season with an all-new holiday movie, “Same Time, Next Christmas.” The film will premiere on Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.
According to a synopsis for the film, it may not have a traditional holiday setting, but there will still be plenty to look forward to when the movie airs.
“Olivia Anderson is a successful young woman who met her childhood sweetheart during her family’s annual Christmas visit to Hawaii,” the synopsis reads. “After being separated by distance and years, the two reunite at the same Hawaiian resort years later, and the old chemistry between them flares up anew—but circumstances conspire to keep them apart.”
In addition to a premise that could draw in curious viewers, the film features a truly all-star cast of recognizable names and faces. Here’s how you know the names and faces of “Same Time, Next Christmas.”
Charles Michael Davis (Jeff Williams)
Davis portrays Jeff, the aforementioned childhood sweetheart who turns up at the Hawaiian resort again. Fans will likely recognize him from previous television roles, including Marcel Gerard on “The Originals” and Zane Anders on “Younger.”
Bryan Greenberg (Gregg Harris)
Greenberg, who may best be known by fans as Jake Jaglieski on “One Tree Hill,” stars as the complication that threatens Jeff’s reunion with Olivia. Greenberg also starred as Nick Garrett on “October Road” and Ben on “The Mindy Project.” He has also had roles in feature films, including as Nate in “Bride Wars” and Parker in “Friends With Benefits.”
Lea Michele (Olivia Anderson)
Michele got her roots on Broadway, but rocketed to mainstream stardom in 2009 with her debut as Rachel Berry on “Glee.” She followed up that show with additional roles in “Scream Queens” and “The Mayor,” and has released two albums, “Louder,” in 2014, and “Places,” in 2017.
George Newbern (Woody Anderson)
Starring as Olivia’s father, Newbern is best known for his role as Charlie in “Scandal,” or as Bryan Mackenzie in both “Father of the Bride” and “Father of the Bride: Part II.”
Nia Vardalos (Faye Anderson)
Vardalos, best known for her role as Toula in both “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2,” portrays Olivia’s mother in this film.
“Same Time, Next Christmas” airs Thursday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
