Meghan Markle Allegedly Gave Prince Harry Ultimatum; Duke Forced To Abandon Royal Family

Meghan Markle reportedly forced Prince Harry to abandon the royal family.

Back in January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. Shortly after the bombshell announcement, they flew to Canada.

Many believed that it was Prince Harry’s decision to move his family out from the U.K. and away from the Firm. However, according to royal correspondent, Rebecca English of Daily Mail, that wasn’t the case.

“Another senior royal source told me Meghan had issued her husband with a stark ultimatum: Archie and me are your family,” English wrote.

“Harry had been hopeful of finding a way to marry his desire for more freedom with his royal heritage, but Meghan convinced him there was no other option, She forced him to choose. He has spent three months convincing himself he has done the right thing,” a source told English.

An insider also said that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles urged the Duke of Sussex to not make a rush decision. The Queen and heir apparent understood that Prince Harry and Markle wanted something different and they were willing to help even if it was complicated as there were several issues including security and funding, visas and tax, and more, which the Sussexes did not think about.

Unfortunately, Prince Harry reportedly felt that his family was “stonewalling” so he pushed the nuclear button. Prince Harry’s staff also begged him to not go public and even warned him that putting all his cards on the table was dangerous but he still did. The source said that the Sussexes “didn’t even have a clue what the term financially independent meant.“

“Unfortunately he was just too stubborn, blinkered and bitter to see sense,” the source added. “Yet his father had always made clear that while he favours a slimmed down monarchy, Harry and his family would be a significant part of that.”

According to a recent report, Prince Harry and Markle have already left Canada and are currently in Los Angeles. The Sussexes are reportedly staying in a secluded compound with their son Archie amid the coronavirus pandemic.Several criticized the couple’s decision, especially that cases of COVID-19 is worse in the U.S. compared to Canada. One said that they just moved to a coronavirus “hot spot” and it was “not too wise.”
