Meghan Markle could have another Instagram after she and Prince Harry gave up their Sussex Royal account.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex lost some of their privileges after they turned their back from being senior members of the royal family. In January, the couple announced that they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family. Following their decision, Queen Elizabeth II forbade them to use everything that is related to their being royals including the Sussex Royal Instagram account.
However, according to royal expert Myka Mieier, the Duchess of Sussex could return to social media. Meier said Markle will have a new account on Instagram.
“I think Meghan is going to have another Instagram,” Meier said on "Royally Obsessed." “I think she’s going to do a Goop, like a new version of The Tig … I really think that’s coming. I have a friend with a little bit of insider knowledge, and I think she’s already working on something.”
Meier added that Markle’s content will be “very interesting and creative” and “inspiring.” The expert also added that Markle could work with the “masterminds from all over the world” for her social media presence.
Prince Harry and Markle have a massive following on their Sussex Royal account on Instagram. However, on March 31, the pair made their last post, thanking the 11.2 million followers who supported them.
“Thank you to this community, for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world,” the couple wrote.
It was reportedly their way to bid goodbye to their fans because the Queen did not allow them to use Sussex Royal for their brand. The couple didn’t expect the Queen’s move because previous reports claimed that they were already working on a $500 million empire surrounding the brand. They allegedly used the Sussex Royal brand to trademark over 100 items.
Meanwhile, royal fans praised the monarch for banning Prince Harry and Markle from using the royal brand. According to them, it was right because the couple wanted to be private individuals. Others said that the Queen outplayed Prince Harry and Markle.
“I’m sure Harry didn’t expect the hard line the Queen drew in the sand. You’ve been outplayed Markle!” one commented.
