Meghan Markle, George And Amal Clooney’s Friendship Revisited: How Close Are The Trio?

Meghan Markle is friend with A-list couple George and Amal Clooney despite rumors of a growing rift.

New Idea recently published a report claiming that Amal was furious because her husband George is secretly helping the former “Suits” star relaunch her career. George’s wife allegedly found it rude that they were talking non-stop privately and she’s been left out of their conversations.

This report remains to be nothing but rumors because Markle is close to the couple. In fact, she has a good relationship with the human rights lawyer.

George and Amal are among the celebrity guests when Markle married Prince Harry in May 2018. The couple was also among the few who managed to score an invite for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s exclusive after part at Frogmore House.

According to an insider, Markle and Amal are close friends. They personally know each other and share the same interests.

“Meghan and Amal have known each other for a while [and share] many interests,” a source said.

“Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life. It was a very natural friendship from day one,” the insider added.

The Clooneys usually spend their summer in their Lake Como property in Italy. According to Grazia, Prince Harry and Markle once enjoyed a four-day vacation there where they met George and Amal’s twins Ella and Alexander.

Prince Harry and George reportedly spent their time playing basketball. There was also a night where they hosted a gala dinner with only 15 guests and the Sussexes were among them.

In 2019, there were also claims that Markle was overwhelmed with emotion after welcoming her son, Archie and the duchess reportedly stayed at the Clooney’s estate.

“Amal even offered to jet in the twins' nanny, Connie Simpson, to be on hand if Meghan wants a break,” the insider said.

“Right now Meghan is just enjoying how secluded the estate is, and having the freedom of taking long walks through the gardens without worrying about people watching her.”

George has also defended Markle from her critics. The “Money Monster” star once compared the backlash Markle is receiving with that of Princess Diana's. However, several netizens reacted and called him “clueless” for making the comparison.

“She is nothing compared to Diana, Meghan is an actress and has played the royal family good and proper,” a Twitter user wrote and added that the duchess is “bringing the royal family down.”
