Meghan Markle has been warned about joining the royal family repeatedly, but she went against it.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are among the most popular royals. The media love to cover everything they do. Unfortunately, the couple found it too much as Prince Harry and Markle complained about the excessive media coverage they received in their interview a few weeks back.

Journalist Owen Jones described the media coverage of Markle as “obsessive.” “Jeremy Vine” show host Anne Diamond quipped, “She was warned.”

“So many people warned her about what happens if you marry into the royal family. You get that sort of publicity,” Diamond added.

Markle’s former agent, Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, also warned the former “Suits” star about the British press and how joining the royal family would end her privacy. However, Markle reportedly stopped her from speaking further.

“I said, ‘This is serious. This is the end of your normal life, the end of your privacy – everything.’ But she just held up her hand and said: ‘Stop. I don’t want to hear any negativity. This is a happy time for us,’” Nelthorpe-Cowne recalled.

She described Markle as “picky” and “difficult” and someone who hates “negativity.” At the same time, she found the duchess “delightful, warm, personable - and hugely charismatic.”

In the ITV documentary “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” Prince Harry and Markle openly shared their struggles as royals and first-time parents. While many understood them, some felt that they were complaining about their privileged lives.

Karol Markowicz, a columnist, said that she went from not caring about the British royal family to actively disliking Prince Harry and Markle following their documentary. It appeared to her that Markle was complaining about her life and Prince Harry was airing his problems with his sibling, Prince William.

One Twitter user said that Markle seemed to be complaining about having a mansion, nanny, millions of dollars, full-time household staff and no real job. The same netizen sarcastically said that working moms who juggle their work, homes and babies couldn’t relate to Markle.
