Katharine McPhee revealed that she has a Meghan Markle connection. The actress revealed that they used to perform together as kids with a Throwback Thursday photo.

“both did musicals together as a kid. one is now the duchess and the other is starring on the west end. basically the same life if you ask me [sic],” McPhee wrote.

The photo shows both girls looking excited and holding bouquets. The “American Idol” alum and the Duchess of Sussex did not attend the same high school, but both grew up in Los Angeles, so they were likely in the same community productions. McPhee did not share which musicals they co-starred in.

Both are now involved in the British theater community. McPhee is currently rehearsing to play Jenna in “Waitress” on the West End starting Feb. 8. She played the same role on Broadway last year. She’ll be in the role through May 25.

Meghan, on the other hand, has retired from acting. However, the former “Suits” star announced that one of her first royal patronages is the National Theatre. She visited on Wednesday to learn more about what they do.
