- Reports claiming the royal couple moved to the U.S. are fake news, fans say
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are urged to pay for their security and not Prince Charles after Donald Trump refused to foot the bill.
An insider confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are already in the United States. They are reportedly staying in a secluded home. Since they are high-profile individuals, there were concerns about their security.
Prince Harry and Markle need the U.S. president’s approval for the diplomatic protection. However, the POTUS already denied it to them. Trump said that America will not cover the royal couple’s security cost, and “they must pay!”
This prompted the netizens to react and many of them want the royal couple to pay for their own security and not forward the expenses to Prince Charles.
It was reported that Prince Harry and Markle’s security would be “privately funded.” Many interpreted this as a confirmation that they would not be paying their security but someone will foot the bill for them.
“And who is ‘privately’ footing that bill? Something tells me not them,” amylourose asked.
While some were asking, many were convinced that Prince Charles will still pay for their security.
“If it’s their spokeswoman she could be lying. Is there any evidence? If it is privately funded then I’m sure daddy is paying because Harry is a grown man yet thinks and behaves like an entitled teenager,” @AnnaSmithson5 commented.
“I’m sorry but having daddy pick up the bill doesn’t make you financially independent. Pay your own damn security,” @TeamCambridge2 wrote.
“Hope it will really be on them and not Charles,” @Courtjase1 added.
Meanwhile, some netizens doubt the reports claiming that Prince Harry and Markle already left Canada and moved to the U.S. and even called it “fake news.” According to them, it’s unlikely that the couple were able to travel during lockdown especially that previous reports said that the duke arrived in Canada before it closed its borders.
