  • Queen Elizabeth's Christmas speech
  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's photo missing on Queen's desk
  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Christmas in Canada

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Christmas photo is missing on Queen Elizabeth’s desk.

Daily Mirror shared a snap of the Queen’s desk during her Christmas message. The Queen looks regal in her blue dress. She accessorized with pearl multi-strand necklace and brooch. On her desks is a collection of photos that featured Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles and King George VI from 1944.

It also featured the Cambridges’ photo for their most recent Christmas card. In the snap are Prince William, Middleton and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are noticeably missing. Last year, Prince Harry and Markle shared the same frame as the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and the Cambridges on the Queen’s desk.

Twitter users immediately reacted to the photo. There were speculations that Prince Harry and Markle are missing because Her Majesty is hinting at the future of the monarchy by only featuring the future kings.

The Sussexes are far down the line of succession. Also, just like Prince Harry and Markle, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward are all missing.

“The Queen is just sending a message to them and their fans, this is the future of the monarchy and these are the people who matter to the crown,” one netizen commented.

“They are just photos of next in line. Stop being so pathetic,” another added.

A different netizen stressed that Prince Harry and Markle were present last year. Meanwhile, another social media user opined that there was a deeper story about the photos. However, Prince Harry and Markle will probably not complain about it because if they do, the Firm will be forced to expose the reason and the royal couple will not like it because it will be their end.

Many believe that Queen Elizabeth II will include Archie’s birth and Princess Beatrice’s engagement in her Christmas speech. Royal expert Katie Nicholl also stated that it will be the best opportunity to address the string of controversies plaguing the royal family this year.

Prince Harry and Markle will not be spending Christmas with the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in Canada and will be celebrating the holiday there.
