Kate Middleton looks better in boots and jeans.

The Duchess of Cambridge is one of the most photographed women today. She is often seen in stunning dresses. However, royal biographer Claudia Joseph felt that frocks are not the best outfit for the future queen.

“I’ve always thought she’s much better in boots and jeans than a pretty frock and she excels when she’s doing something close to her heart,” she told Vanity Fair.

She added that this is the year when Middleton has “earned her spurts.” She concluded that this has been a great year for Prince William’s wife. In fact, the public have seen her “at her best” this year.

“She feels she can be herself and doesn’t have to hide or be on her guard,” she added.

Joseph is not the first one to notice the changes in Middleton this year. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is the Queen’s saving grace amid all the scandals that plagued the royal family, prompting them to believe that the monarch just had her “annus horribilis 2.”

Fitzwilliams said that those who were looking to the future of the monarchy could see the couple’s charitable work and trip to Pakistan. He praised the second in line to the throne because he was being superb in handling sensitive issues in Israel and Palestine. Meanwhile, Lorraine Kelly praised Middleton for her beautiful wardrobe and for “quietly and effectively [emerging] as the Queen’s top asset in the Royal Family.”

In related news, Prince William and Middleton sparked drama and marital issues after they were spotted arriving at Queen Elizabeth II’s annual Christmas lunch separately. Also, many noticed that the duchess shrugged Prince William’s hands on her shoulder in an episode of their special “A Berry Royal Christmas.”

However, one should take the report with a grain of salt because even if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didn’t arrive at the Queen’s lunch, they left together. Also, an insider said that the duchess brushed off her husband’s hands to keep their PDA down to a minimum and remain professional because she was aware that they were being recorded by multiple cameras.
