Meghan Markle Should Stop Promoting ‘Princess Perfect’ Story For This Reason
Meghan Markle has been encouraged to act more like a royal and to stop peddling the “Princess Perfect” story by a journalist after her unnamed friends denied some of the biggest rumors surrounding her.
Loose Women panelist Janet Street-Porter criticized the Duchess of Sussex for allowing her friends to speak on her behalf during their interview with People. The columnist said that what Markle’s friends recently did is usually done by reality stars to gossip magazines and not by royals.
“Meghan should embrace the fact that she has become the Duchess of Sussex rather than keep acting as ‘one of the people,’ unbound by royal etiquette and unchanged by the luxuries royals are expected to enjoy such as private butlers and chiefs,” she told Daily Mail.
The columnist went on to say that even though it is commendable that Markle wants to maintain a certain degree of independence, she should also acknowledge the fact that she can no longer do whatever she likes for her own safety.
Meanwhile, Street-Porter also talked about some of Markle’s tactics and said that her attempts to wander into the crowds to get up close and personal with royal fans might be good for her image, but just one wrong move and she could get into huge trouble.
“In her latest bid to convince us all that she’s normal, just like the rest of us, Meghan has apparently allowed five of her closest female friends to talk to People magazine. Unfortunately, this tactic has backfired, because now she sounds like a less-than-credible cross between Mother Teresa, Princess Diana at her most saint-like and Mary Berry,” she said.
Earlier this week, Markle’s friends denied that she never reached out to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr. They said that Markle even wrote a letter to her dad. They also said that Markle is not living in a huge home with Prince Harry. Instead, they live in a cozy apartment and Markle cooks for herself and her husband daily.
