Meghan Markle Stuns In Another Custom Givenchy Dress Amid 'Overspending' Accusations [PHOTOS]
Meghan Markle's pregnancy isn't stopping her from wearing gorgeous outfits. The Duchess of Sussex recently stepped out in a simple but chic Givenchy shirt dress during a royal engagement with Prince Harry.
Earlier this week, Markle was her husband Prince Harry's date to the Endeavour Fund Awards at Draper's Hall in London's financial district. The event was held to honor service members who have used athletics and other new challenges to aid their recovery and rehabilitation, according to Kensington Palace.
According to Town and Country, Markle went with a gorgeous in a black and white bespoke dress from Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, who was also responsible for her iconic wedding gown. The outfit featured a white top with a collar and rolled-up sleeves, as well as a black pencil skirt.
For her accessories, Markle chose the black and gold Aquazzura Rendez Vous 105 Suede Pump and a black Givenchy jewel-clasp clutch that she previously sported at the Royal Ascot in June last year. The pregnant duchess styled her hair in a low bun to top off the look. See photos of Markle's chic outfit below!
During the Endeavour Fund Awards, Prince Harry and Markle presented two of the three prizes. The couple was also part of the judging panel which picked the three recipients of the trophies. The Duke of Sussex, who is a former army captain, also gave a speech during the event.
The awards is headed by the Royal Foundation, which is overseen by Prince Harry, Markle, Prince William and Kate Middleton. The foundation is currently in its third year.
When she took the stage to present the Celebrating Excellence Award, Markle made a short speech where she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the celebration for the second time. The pregnant duchess also revealed that prior to the reception, she and Prince Harry were told by one of the nominees that the couple had made such a huge impact. However, she believes that the reason why the impact is so far-reaching is the "ripple effect."
"And, in true modesty of all the nominees — ‘yes, it is about the ripple effect,’" she recalled of their conversation (via People), before adding, "But what I admired in him — and I feel is true about all the nominees — is you don’t have that ripple effect unless each of you is brave enough to make that first wave.”
"It’s so important to remember that because what you’re doing is inspiring so many people — so thank you from all of us for being that inspiration and congratulations to all the nominees," she continued.
Markle presented the award to Nathan Forster, who got injured while he was serving with the Parachute Regiment in Afghanistan. He has learned to fly planes with Flying for Freedom.
