Meghan Markle is not pregnant but wants to conceive soon.

For months, there have been rumors that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are already expecting their second child. A source told Us Weekly that the duchess is not pregnant. However, she wants to give Archie a sibling sooner rather than later.

The insider told the publication that Prince Harry and Markle’s family is their top priority. Although Markle is not pregnant, she wants to conceive next year.

Markle was advised to not get pregnant so soon because she is already over 35 years old and women at this age are at risk of maternal mortality when they conceive six months after their previous birth. In fact, an expert recommended that Markle wait for two years to have another baby again.

“Women, like Meghan, approaching 40, might feel pressured to leave closer gaps between babies. That’s understandable as pregnancy over the age of 40 is can be considered high risk,” midwife Nabila Fowles-Gutierrez told Express.

If Markle couldn’t wait for two years, Nabia recommended that the couple should wait for at least 12 months. Julie Jomeen, a professor of midwifery at the University of Hull, agreed that the risk increases for women at Markle’s age and the mother’s general health is a significant factor.

“In terms of birthing plans for mothers over 35, whilst statistically risks increase with pregnancy at a later age, if an older first time Mum is healthy and well then their options for birth should be as for anyone else,” Jomeen said.

Jomeen also recommended that the duchess should consider caesarean or induced labor to avoid the risk of placental insufficiency. Overall, she said that Markle has the choice when to get pregnant and added that it is important that they are aware of “birth spacing.”

In related news, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are enjoying their six-week break from their royal duties. However, according to an insider, Markle is still in “work mode.”

Markle is reportedly preparing for the launch of the Sussex Royal Foundation on New Year’s Day. The former “Suits” star reportedly wants it to be one of the biggest and most successful philanthropic organizations worldwide.
