Meghan Markle ‘Worked Hard’ To Be Britain’s ‘Top Social Climber,’ Critic Claims
Meghan Markle was recently named as Britain’s top social climber.
Tatler gave the Duchess of Sussex the unflattering nickname after the publication claimed that Prince Harry’s wife reached the pinnacle of the greasy pole by marrying into the royal family.
The editor for the magazine also noted the fact that the “Suits” alum’s story is not so much as the rags to riches tale that she claims it to be. Markle was privately educated, and her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., was a famed lighting director who also won an Emmy.
Shortly after Markle was criticized by the publication, “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan hit out at the Duchess of Sussex. He sarcastically said that Markle should be given credit for her nickname because she worked hard to attain it.
“She’s worked hard for that. I think we should just take it at face value… She has worked very hard for the honor and I congratulate her… Great social climbing… The climbing littered with the carcasses of those who once knew you, littered around,” he said.
And during Morgan’s interview with Amanda Holden, the host once again said that Markle deserves to be given the controversial title.
“And no one could have put more work into winning that award than Ms. Markle, so I think both of you deserve our congratulations,” Morgan said.
However, Holden didn’t side with the “GMB” host. She said that they like Markle on their show, “Heart Breakfast.” The host also encouraged viewers who are tired of hearing Morgan criticize Prince Harry’s wife to just tune into their show instead.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Morgan criticized the former Hollywood actress. Throughout the past couple of months, the host has been slamming the Duchess of Sussex for her every move.
The criticisms started after Morgan revealed that Markle befriended her when she first arrived in the United Kingdom. But after she started dating Prince Harry, Markle just disappeared on him.
