Meghan Markle’s body language reportedly evokes key elements of the power dynamic between her and Prince Harry.

Judi James, a body language expert, recently said (via Express) that Markle is completely aware that Prince Harry is the real star and has no plans to upstage him in any way.

Last week, the couple attended a gala performance at the Central Hall in Westminster. The Duchess of Sussex was photographed walking hand-in-hand with the Duke of Sussex at that time. James called this a theatrical-based technique that Markle did to get a certain effect.

“She’s well aware that Harry is the star and popular among royal fans so, as a former actress, she’s very cleverly trying not to upstage him. By pushing him forward ever so slightly, she boosts the prince’s ego and profile, making him feel more an alpha male in the situation,” she said.

But James also said that the based on the couple’s body language, it is evident that Markle is more confident than Prince Harry by a mile.

“Meghan’s penchant for backseat driving is seen in her constant touching of Harry’s back with the palm of her hand. It’s quite a controlling quasi-maternal support gesture, pushing him along, but it’s also flirtatious. When they posed for the photographers, she was the one using reassuring gestures and confidently touching Harry’s arm,” James said.

In the near future, the body language expert said that it is possible for Markle to adopt a more dominant demeanor especially when she is out in public with Prince Harry.

“Meghan is straddling two different roles at the moment. She was once a high-profile actress campaigning for women’s liberation but has married into one of the most old-fashioned families in the universe. Female roles – apart from the Queen – in the royal family are rather traditional, so I imagine she’s rather confused about how to play her new position. In her new royal role, I think Meghan will initially have a more compliant, submissive role, looking to steer Harry in her duties,” James said.
