Meghan Markle’s Dad Blames ‘British Snobs’ For ‘Cruel, Heartless’ Criticism Against Duchess
Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr., recently slammed those who are behind the cruel and heartless criticism being directed at his daughter.
Even though the Markles are estranged from each other, Thomas still took the Duchess of Sussex’s side amid the condemnations being thrown at her. Mike Parker, a journalist for Express, spoke with Markle’s friend.
“All of them criticize Meghan and only Meghan. Harry can’t help wondering if there is some sort of agenda going on here. Thomas is of the opinion, ‘What’s next? Is someone going to demand: Off with her head?’” the friend said.
The friend also said that the negative articles online and, in the newspapers, has left the former lighting director hurt.
“Thomas keeps asking, ‘How could they be so cruel and heartless?’ One of the sweetest young women anyone could hope to meet is being trashed and bashed by a British establishment hellbent on belittling her. He thinks she’s a victim of some sort of sick British sport where you put someone on a pedestal then throw as many stones as you can to knock them off. All this is happening when she’s expecting her first child and, instead of support, Thomas is horrified she’s getting nothing but flak. He says, ‘They are nothing but snobs and their behavior is a disgrace,’” the source said.
Throughout the past couple of weeks, there have also been reports regarding Markle’s alleged rows with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. Christopher Wilson, a royal biographer, urged complainers to back off.
“Meghan needs time to settle into what for her is a completely alien culture,” he said.
Phil Dampier, a veteran royal watcher, said the royal fans tend to forget that Markle is older than Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Harry. And her work as a former actress has helped her become more confident.
“The bottom line is that the Royals are like the rest of us and all families have their ups and downs,” he said.
