Meghan Markle’s Long Maternity Leave May Be Canceled For This Reason
Meghan Markle might return to her royal duties shortly after she gives birth.
Initially, there were reports suggesting that the Duchess of Sussex’s maternity leave would be six months longer than Kate Middleton’s. The Duchess of Cambridge took six months off when she was pregnant with Prince Louis. This means that Markle will have year-long maternity leave. However, a recent report suggests otherwise.
According to Thomas Mackie, a journalist for Express, the hard-working duchess has a huge number of events coming up, so her maternity leave may be short or might have been canceled altogether. “I bet as soon as she delivers the bump, she will be back to work,” one netizen claimed.
A few weeks ago, Queen Elizabeth II gave Markle four patronages associated with arts, education, support for women and animal welfare which reflected Markle’s passion. The Duchess of Sussex is the new patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the National Theatre, Smart Works and Mayhew.
Just recently, Prince Harry’s wife visited the animal charity. However, some criticized her for being hours late and staying for only 10 minutes in the shelter. But compared to her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, more are impressed with Markle’s charity works.
Just recently, a number of netizens expressed their disappointment with Middleton’s performance eight years after joining the royal fold.
“I have been saying for the longest time that Kate is not a the level I would expect her to be at after 8 yrs in the Royal family. She is forever stuck at year 1!!!!!” one netizen wrote on Twitter.
A different user agreed and stressed that after years Middleton had nothing to show. The said netizen called the Duchess of Cambridge “duchess do little.”
On the other hand, another user also highlighted Markle’s project and charity works just months after marrying Prince Harry. They agreed that Middleton is way behind Markle and that the royal family is reinventing her to keep phase with the pregnant royal’s popularity.
In related news, Middleton couldn’t be blamed because when she was still a newbie, she was only given by the monarch with one patronage and she shared it with Prince William and Prince Harry. On the other hand, Markle had a fast start when Her Majesty gave her four. This prompted some to conclude that the Queen loves Markle more than Middleton.
