Meghan Markle’s Sister Samantha Slams Prince Harry For ‘Controversial’ Remark About Family
Meghan Markle’s sister, Samantha Markle, recently fired back at Prince Harry after he said that the royals were like the family that his fiancée never had.
Samantha, who is Markle’s half-sister, took her thoughts to Twitter to clarify the dynamic between their household. She said that after their dad, Thomas Markle, divorced Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, Samantha and her siblings welcomed the “Suits” alum into their home.
She also said that they have a large family who always showed love and support for Markle. “She has a large family. She always did. Our dad is amazing and completely self-sacrificing. We made it so that she had two houses. How fun it was!” she wrote.
Samantha’s clarification came after Prince Harry revealed what his first Christmas with Markle and his royal family was like. “The family loved having her there. There’s always that family part of Christmas where there’s always that work element there as well, and I think together we had an amazing time. We had great fun staying with my brother and sister-in-law and running round with the kids. Christmas was fantastic,” he BBC.
Sarah Montague asked Prince Harry if there were some royal family traditions that he had to teach Markle in time for the holidays, and the prince said there were plenty.
“No, look, she’s done an absolutely amazing job. She’s getting in there and it’s the family I suppose that she’s never had,” he said.
Meanwhile, Samantha previously revealed that she will be releasing a memoir called “The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.” But the mom of two clarified that she won’t be doing so to cash in on Markle’s popularity. She also said that the idea for the title came from the media.
“It wasn’t me who called Meg ‘pushy,’ it was the tabloid newspapers. She is not pushy. The book isn’t going to be negative – it’s a warm, witty, honoring book – unfortunately, the negative sing-song has gone round the world,” she explained (via the Daily Mail).
