Meghan Markle’s TV Dad Approves Of Prince Harry Engagement

Prince Harry now has the blessing of Meghan Markle’s biological father and TV dad.

Following the announcement that the “Suits” actress will soon wed the British prince, Markle’s TV dad, actor Wendell Pierce, commented about the upcoming nuptials on Twitter.

“Congratulations to my TV daughter Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the news of their wedding engagement,” Pierce posted Monday morning. “Harry you have her TV father’s blessing. Robert Zane approves.”

Markle plays Pierce’s daughter Rachel Zane on the USA Network drama.

Pierce tagged the network in his congratulatory tweet. However, the official social account for the show has yet to post about Markle’s engagement.

Markle’s TV dad is far from the only person in her life to issue their approval of her impending marriage to Prince Harry. Markle’s parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, issued a statement over their daughter’s engagement shortly after the news broke.

“We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents,” her parents said in a statement posted by the Kensington Palace. “We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together.”

Prince Harry’s family has also spoken out in regards for the engagement. “We’re thrilled. We’re both thrilled,” Prince Charles, Harry’s father, said in a statement alongside his wife, Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall. “We hope they’ll be very happy indeed,” the pair added.

Prince Harry’s brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, also offered up their congratulations via a statement on Monday. “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together,” the pair said.

Kensington Palace has announced Queen Elizabeth II has also been informed of the engagement. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are due to wed in the spring.
