Melania Trump Committed Another Glaring Faux Pas; FLOTUS Received Harsh Comments From Critics
Melania Trump continues to enjoy the support for her avid followers amid the endless criticisms, malicious reports and hateful remarks being thrown at her. Most of her fans admire her fashion choices and independence as she is known for bravely expressing her thoughts even if it does not match President Donald Trump’s opinions. Recently, Melania received backlash again after she committed a glaring mistake in one of her most recent posts on Twitter.
On Saturday, Melania shared photos of herself alongside the children at Children’s National Hospital. While there, the FLOTUS met with patients, their loved ones and nursing staff before reading them the "Oliver the Ornament Meets Belle" story. Melania, during the visit, donned a black turtle neck and a turquoise pencil skirt.
“Celebrated the joys of the #Christmas season with children at @ChildrensHealth. We made crafts and read "Oliver the Ornament meets Belle" and even got to see Santa and Mrs. Clause!” Melania Trump posted on Twitter. Critics of the FLOTUS were quick to point out a spelling mistake -- she wrongfully wrote "Clause" instead of "Claus" -- and mocked her for it.
“*Claus. Claus is their surname, not clause. A clause is a group of words that includes a subject and a verb. A clause contrasts with a phrase, which does not contain a subject and a verb,” one netizen wrote in the comment section. “That’s “Claus”, FLOTUS. #BeBetterAtSpelling,” another Twitter user said. “Ahhh yes teaching our kids how not to spell! Be Beste,” Shawn Carpenter stated.
Some followers of Melania Trump defended her amid the backlash. “Are you serious? See the forest through the trees! She’s helping kids. Why do ppl have to be so critical,” Sherri Jeffers commented. “Could the grammar police also say a few kind words to the children also seeing how they are copied in your tweet? Merry Christmas or something to that effect?” Carmen Robinson wrote.
There were also those who took the opportunity to praise and thank the FLOTUS for working very hard for her advocacies and campaigns. “Thank you, FLOTUS __ continue rising above. You are doing beautiful things for our children. #BeBest,” one follower said. “How nice of you to make their Christmas special. And I have been spelling Santa Claus wrong too since “The Santa Clause” movie came out in the 90s! Merry Christmas to you and the children,” Rogue Q stated.
On Friday, Melania also received a series of disparagements when she used the word “Holiday” instead of “Christmas” in her post about the national tree lighting event in the President’s Park. The FLOTUS was also lambasted for not bringing Barron at the said event, which, traditionally, is attended by the entire members of the first family. Melania Trump has yet to comment on the harsh comments.
