Melania Trump Receives Backlash Over 'Selfish' Twitter Post; FLOTUS Corrected By Netizens
Melania Trump has become a favorite subject of malicious reports and controversies since she assumed as the First Lady of the United States. Just recently, the wife of President Donald Trump faced another backlash over a simple error on her Thanksgiving message on Thursday.
“Enjoy time with your family and friends. To those in our military who are serving overseas, you are in our thoughts and prayers - our nation is thankful for all you do!” Melania wrote on Twitter, alongside a snap that read “Happy Thanksgiving.” Avid followers of the FLOTUS were quick to respond to her post. However, her critics took the opportunity to attack the former model.
“Is that why you have deported many veterans with no shame..? Because you are thankful...!” a certain Shakila Brooks wrote in the comment section. “Why not “To ALL those who serve”? And not just those overseas,” another user said.
“English is very hard for her. Im sure that’s what she meant,” Ryan Davey stated. A fourth netizen even called Melania Trump’s message “selfish.” Ken Boss posted a photo of the First Lady who was about to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and wrote: “And we hope you finally get what you really desire.”
Amid the hate, devoted supporters of Melania Trump showed nothing but love for her and the entire Trump family. “Melania Trump. You are absolutely beautiful inside and out. Admire your class and elegance. Please ignore all the negativity around you. We are absolutely proud to have you as First Lady. You are our pride and honor. Happy thanksgiving to you and your family. God bless and keep,” one fan wrote. “Wishing you and your family a blessed and joyous Thanksgiving, First Lady!” Lori Johnston stated.
Meanwhile, Melania Trump, reportedly, spent Thanksgiving Day away from her husband. CNN reported that Melania was not seen during President Donald Trump’s surprise visit to US troops in Afghanistan on Thursday. No other details were made known behind the FLOTUS’s absence.
During the event, the President, reportedly, ate turkey with the troops, posed for photographs and delivered a brief speech. President Donald Trump also met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. Melania Trump has yet to comment on these reports.
