KEY POINTS

  • Melania Trump loves reading books and being alone inside her room
  • Reports have it that the FLOTUS does not share a bed with President Donald Trump
  • Melania Trump, allegedly, claimed that she is more than just a pretty face

The life of Melania Trump turned upside down when she assumed the role as the First Lady of the United States from Michelle Obama in 2017. Though she was already getting so much attention since she started her modeling career several years back, the FLOTUS did not expect to gain more followers and critics alike when Donald Trump’s presidency started.

In 2007, American model Karen McDougal revealed that she once had a chance to enter the Trump Tower. The former Playmate, who reportedly had an affair with President Donald Trump, claimed that the POTUS showed her around, including Melania’s bedroom.

Karen shared, in an eight-page handwritten document, that Donald Trump said Melania Trump spends most of her time inside her room and reading books. “Said she liked her space—to read or be alone,” the model stated, per The New York Times. The POTUS also told her that the FLOTUS sleeps in a separate bedroom.

Journalist Michael Wolff claimed, in his “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” book, that the first couple has the same sleeping arrangement in the White House. Michael claimed, per Cheat Sheet, that Donald “retreated to his own bedroom—the first time since the Kennedy White House that a presidential couple had maintained separate rooms.”

Though Karen McDougal and Michael Wolff’s claims raised numerous eyebrows, it seems like the model’s revelation about how Melania Trump loves reading books is true. In fact, on Sept. 6, 2017, the FLOTUS encouraged her followers to read a book during the National Read-A-Book Day. “On National #ReadABookDay I encourage everyone to read a book. Let every page educate you & take you on an exciting journey!” she wrote on Twitter.

In Dec. 2019, Melania Trump also read a Christmas story after spending time with the patients’ family and nursing staff during her annual visit to Children’s National Hospital. The FLOTUS, per CBN News, spent extra time crafting with some patients and offered words of encouragement at the time.

Meanwhile, Melania, previously, hits back at public misconceptions about her being another pretty woman without substance. “To be married to my husband, to someone successful as he is, he needs somebody who will tell him the truth. Somebody smart, you know,” she said during an interview with Dujour. “It’s not just like I’m there and I’m just doing things for him. People say I’m not on the campaign, [but] I’m very involved from home,” Melania Trump went on.
