Melania Trump sparks debate after calling White House the “President’s House.”

On Wednesday, the first lady of the United States shared photos of the newly renovated White House Bowling Alley. The bowling alley was first installed during President Richard Nixon’s administration in 1973. It was last renovated in 1994 during President Bill Clinton’s term. The Trump administration redesigned it this time with the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America funding the renovation.

One of the photos featured bowling balls with a picture of the White House with the text that read, “The President’s House.” Several online netizens reacted because according to them, the White House is not the president’s house. It is the house of the people.

“The first lady, Melania Trump, has overseen the renovation of the White House bowling alley. Historically, the White House has been referred to as "the people's house,” @davidgura commented.

“This is probably the most honesty that has come out of the White House recently. These people DO NOT see it as "the people's house" -- they believe they won it in a contest that they gleefully cheated in to win,” @MuthrBear added.

“That’s the People’s House,” @jillibobilli opined.

However, some online users defended Melania. According to them, the White House has several names and it is also called the president’s house.

"Look at history ... The White house has another name, ‘Executive Mansion’, ‘President’s House’ and ‘President Palace’. The name ‘White House’ was given by President Theodore Rosevelt 1901,” @sr_aldrich commented.

“It was often called the ‘The President’s House’ early-mid 19th c. But, yes, they should be arrested immediately,” @eastern_branch added.

Melania also sparked debate when she spelled “New Delhi” as “New Dehli.” Many corrected the FLOTUS, but she did not change the way she spelled her next destination. It turned out that the place has several names too and the way Melania spelled it is only one of those.

In the book “The National Geographical Journal of India” Volume 40, it was revealed that the name of the place has several variations with “Dilli” being the most popular and pronounced as “Dilli,” “Dehli” or “Delhi.”

In related news, a clip of Trump patting his leg to call Melania has resurfaced on Twitter. Several reacted and said that the POTUS was treating his wife like a dog and they were surprised that the FLOTUS responded accordingly.
