Melania Trump has reportedly spent a huge sum of money on her wardrobe for this year alone.

According to Express, the first lady has spent an estimated $255,000 on clothing for the past 12 months. And there is a possibility that her spending on wardrobe could have been more since the U.S. government was shut down for 35 days earlier this year.

In February, the FLOTUS spent over $21,000 on her wardrobe. She has favored brands such as Michael Kors, Chanel and Gucci.

On her birthday month, the first lady was photographed wearing an expensive piece, her lilac Valentino coat priced at approximately $2,200. A month later, Melania traveled to Japan for a state dinner. While there, she was photographed in a Calvin Klein dress, a Lora Piana jumpsuit and more.

Just recently, Melania traveled to the United Kingdom with President Donald Trump for the NATO summit. While in London, they had the opportunity to meet some members of the royal family.

The first lady stunned in her yellow Valentino cape coat that costs roughly around $6,000. A spokesperson for the FLOTUS told The Hollywood Reporter that Melania buys her clothes. But she also qualifies for discounts from certain brands due to her role as the first lady.

Following Melania’s trip to the United Kingdom, Daily Mail journalist Janet Street-Porter said that the first lady lets her clothes do the talking.

“The First Lady remains a mystery. Is she stupid? Cold? Insecure? Is she permanently furious with her husband, who seems to be her polar opposite? Feminist or Trophy Wife? There's never been a First Lady who we know so little about,” she said.

Street-Porter said that one of the standout things about President Trump’s wife is her style.

“There's the carefully chosen clothing - she loves a cape; it makes her look even more imperious. Not for Melania the kooky suits adopted by Brigitte Macron, who favors short skirts and a sixties haircut. Melania prefers curiously grown-up formal tailoring, power dressing in stiff fabrics. Her hair remains immaculate, Barbie meets Wonder Woman,” she said.
