Melissa Joan Hart received massive criticism from her followers due to a post about Hurricane Maria on Instagram.

On Tuesday, Hart took to social media to express her disappointment about Hurricane Maria's landfall in Dominica. She had planned to stay at the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a family vacation. But since Hurricane Maria was classified as category 5, the trip had to be postponed.

In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Hart shared a snapshot of an alert on her phone that read: "Maria has officially made landfall on the Caribbean island of Dominica as a Category 5 hurricane." The "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" star then implied that she was more disappointed over the canceled trip than the fact that a hurricane had hit the area. "And just like that, our family vacation is canceled. Such a bummer but we plant to hit the @nickresortpuntacana resort another time this year," she wrote in the caption.

Hart immediately deleted her post after receiving negative comments from Instagram users. However, she kept a tweet that linked to the post. Some took this as an opportunity to take jabs at the "Melissa & Joey" star, Daily News reported.

"Melissa Joan Hart-less. I hope this is a joke/troll," one user commented. "Yea- you should take this down. Unless of course, you want everyone to despise you. #Maria," another follower wrote.

Some advised that she should set her priorities straight. "I think you should be more concerned with the people that live there instead of your meaningless vacation," one user added (via Us Weekly).

While some social media users criticized Hart for her being insensitive to the affected families of Hurricane Maria, others are more understanding of her side. One follower reminded her, "better safe than sorry. We do not want anything to happen to you or your family." Another follower addressed those who slammed the "Drive Me Crazy" star, saying: "Calm down people, she can be a caring person and disappointed at the same time. It's called being human."

In another Instagram post, Hart sent her love to her friends in Puerto Rico who were affected by Hurricane Maria. "My thoughts are with all my friends in Puerto Rico and the surrounding islands that are being hit by #hurricaneMaria today," she wrote.
