Meryl Streep Cast In 'OMITB' Season 3, Selena Gomez Reveals In Fun Video
Selena Gomez is excited to welcome her new "Only Murders in the Building" co-star, which is none other than Meryl Streep.
The 30-year-old singer shared a video on her Instagram feed Tuesday, where she can be seen sitting between her co-stars - legendary comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short.
"Guys! We're on set! What are we shooting? Season 3! The gang is back!" Gomez said.
The singer pans the camera to show other co-stars on the set - Andrea Martin and Paul Rudd, who joined in Season 2. "Well, I do think it could get a little bit better," Rudd said looking into the camera.
When Gomez pans the camera back to herself, Streep can be seen popping up from behind the sofa.
"Steve do you want a pillow? Marty are you OK?" Streep asked. She also kept her hand on Gomez's shoulder and questioned, "You OK?" Gomez replied with excitement, "I'm OK, thank you Meryl, you're sweet."
"I could cry," Gomez captioned the post. "Season 3 is coming!"
Martin took to Twitter on the same day to share a black-and-white selfie of the cast members, including Streep, Rudd, Short and Gomez, smiling while sitting on the same couch.
"Only Murders in the Building" is a mystery crime drama that features three people interested to know about real-life crimes. When they come across a crime in their own building, they go on a mission to solve it.
John Hoffman, the co-creator of the series, previously shared what fans can expect from the upcoming season.
"In Season 3, we're obviously making a leap into the theater, and around Oliver being a little bit more central in the emotional arc," Hoffman said. "It's his Broadway return, and that tethers out for all of them into a question of success. We're just four weeks into our writers' room for Season 3, but there are lovely romantic possibilities happening that ask certain questions."
The first season of the Hulu show was dropped in August 2021 and its success led to another season, which premiered in June last year. The third season is scheduled to release later this year.
