Michelle Obama recently sparked rumors that she could become the next vice president of the United States.
Earlier this week, presidential candidate Joe Biden was asked if he would consider appointing Obama for the supreme court. Barack Obama’s former vice president said that he would. However, Biden is convinced that Barack won’t do it.
At this point, the interviewers asked which Obama is Biden talking about. The crowds cheered and applauded when Biden directly said that he wants “Michelle Obama” to be his vice president if he wins the 2020 elections.
Throughout the past couple of months, supporters of the Obamas have been urging Michelle to run for president. However, the ex-FLOTUS previously said that she has no plans.
Despite her firm statement on the matter, experts are still convinced that Michelle could file for candidacy at the last minute. While speaking with the Daily Caller, election expert Allan Lichtman said that Michelle has the highest chance of winning among the other Democratic candidates.
Lichtman also said that Michelle’s presidential bid may be a long shot, but it’s not impossible.
But by the looks of it, even if the ex-FLOTUS won’t run for president this year, she could still hold an important position at the Vice President’s Ceremonial Office.
And days after Biden’s declaration, Michelle once again sparked speculations that she’s really in talks to become the next vice president. Barack’s wife was spotted hanging out with Biden’s former daughter-in-law, Kathleen Biden, in Washington D.C.
According to the New York Post, Barack’s wife was spotted dining with a group of friends at the Brasserie Liberte, The Hill. Kathleen and Biden’s son, Hunter divorced three years ago.
During their split, Kathleen reportedly leaned on Michelle for support. The two first met during Barack and Biden’s presidential and vice-presidential stint in 2008. Kathleen and Michelle also go on trips together with their respective families, and they also go to SoulCycle regularly.
