‘The Mick’ Star Scott MacArthur Reveals Kaitlin Olson Accidentally Hurt Herself While Filming A Scene For Season 1, Episode 2
Kaitlin Olson went home with a minor injury after filming an intense scene for Season 1, Episode 2 of “The Mick.”
In a guest blog post for Entertainment Weekly, series writer Scott MacArthur — who also plays Jimmy on the new FOX sitcom — revealed that Olson was so committed in her portrayal of Mickey in the bathroom scene of the episode that she ended up hurting her hand.
“When you’re working with someone as talented and funny as Kaitlin, it’s easy to take for granted how much gold she gives you on a daily basis,” MacArthur wrote. “She cares so much and gives every take her all. It was only the next day we realized that she had really crushed her hand slamming the stall take after take.”
But since Kaitlin often pays a visit to the hospital while filming FXX’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” MacArthur said that he’s thankful that the actress’ injury on the set of “The Mick” wasn’t that serious.
“I’ve been told that Kaitlin has to visit the hospital almost every season while shooting ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’ so I was happy that in this situation she was only in need of an ice pack,” MacArthur wrote. Watch the bathroom scene from the episode in the video below:
MacArthur and Olson’s costars Thomas Barbusca (Chip) and Carla Jimenez (Alba) also took to Twitter to share some of their experiences while filming the episode. Read their tweets below:
