The Lumia 950 XL measures 151.9 x 78.4 x 8.1 mm and it weighs 165 grams. Its front and rear panels are made up of plastic. The Lumia 950 XL will be available in two colors, black and white.
The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition (2015) is larger and heavier device than the Microsoft’s phablet as it measures 153.9 x 76.2 x 11.7 mm and weighs 179 grams.
The 5.7-inch AMOLED screen of the Lumia 950 XL and the 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen of the Moto X Pure Edition (2015) deliver Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Gorilla Glass 4 shields the display of the Lumia 950 XL whereas the Gorilla Glass 3 protects the display of Moto X Style.
Chipset, Storage And RAM
The Lumia 950 XL is packed with the powerful Snapdragon 810 chipset that features an octa-core processor clocking at 2.0 GHz. The Snapdragon 808 is present under the hood of the Moto X Style. Its hexa-core processor can reach a maximum processing of 1.8 GHz. Both the handsets feature 3 GB of RAM.
Apart from 32 GB, there is no another inbuilt storage option available with the Lumia 950 XL. Users can add up to 200 GB of microSD card on the device. There are three inbuilt storage options available for the Moto X Pure Edition (2015) for buyers such as 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.
Camera And Unique Features
Microsoft has included features such as Optical Image Stabilization and triple-LED flash for the 20-megapixel PureView camera on the Lumia 950 XL. The 21-megapixel camera of the Moto X Pure Edition (2015) is enabled with dual-LED flash. Both the handsets have 5-megapixel camera on their front panel. However, Motorola has added an LED flash for the front-facing camera on its new phablet.
By using the Moto Maker customization tool, users can personalize panels and then place an order. Another notable feature of the handset with different colored accent, frame and rear is that its chassis is resistant to water splashes. Moreover, it is blessed with remarkable front-facing speakers, Android Authority reported. It also features a fingerprint scanner.
There is no option customize the appeal of the Lumia 950 XL. Features like the iris scanner, USB Type-C and Continuum for using the handset like a desktop computer through a docking station are not available on the Moto X Pure Edition (2015).
Battery And Price
The Lumia 950 XL features a massive removable battery of 3,340 mAh. On the other side, the Motorola has included a 3,000 non-removable battery.
The unlocked 32 GB Microsoft Lumia 950 XL is priced at $649. The unlocked 32 GB variant of the Moto X Pure Edition (2015) costs $549. The 16 GB and 64 GB are respectively priced at $399 and $499.
