Miley Cyrus Engaged To Liam Hemsworth After 3 Years Of Dating, Getting A 3.5 Carat Ring

Miley Cyrus is engaged to her long-time boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, adding to Hollywood's list of it couples after three years of dating.

I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam, Cyrus, 19, told People magazine.

The Hunger Games star proposed to his now-fiance on May 31, blinging out the engagement ring with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane.

The country pop star/actress and Hemsworth first met in 2009 on the set of The Last Song. Cyrus was at the tail-end of a nine month relationship with model Justin Gaston. Cyrus then shared her first on-screen kiss with Hemsworth, which began an on-set and eventually longer-lasting romance.

What happened happened, and we've been together ever since, Hemsworth said in an interview with Details magazine. She makes me really happy. When you start, you want to be professional, but when you're filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you're not human if you don't feel something.

Cyrus unintentionally set off wedding bells earlier in the year, when she was sporting what many thought was an engagement ring. False alarm then, but it's the real deal now.

On Wednesday morning, Cyrus tweeted life is beautiful without any sort of explanation. But we get it now, Miley.

The couple lives together in Los Angeles and has five dogs, according to ABC.

Hemsworth is in the middle of a career boon, filming Empire State in New Orleans. He will then move on to Paranoia, alongside Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, before getting started on the next installment of The Hunger Games. Cyrus is recording a new album. With such busy schedules, an exact date for the wedding may not come for a while.
