Miranda Lambert-Blake Shelton Update: ‘Over You’ Singer Heartbroken Over Gwen Stefani Romance, Source Says
Country star Miranda Lambert may have won female artist of the year at the 2015 CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, Wednesday, but she was too upset to enjoy it, Hollywood Life wrote in an exclusive report Thursday. Her ex-husband, “Sangria” singer Blake Shelton, confirmed his relationship to “Used to Love You” singer Gwen Stefani hours before she received the accolade.
“She was just holding back tears the whole time,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “She won one of the best awards of the night and she couldn’t even enjoy it.”
Lambert, 31, even hinted about her July divorce from Shelton during her acceptance speech. “Man, I really appreciate it. I needed a bright spot this year, so thank you,” the blond starlet said.
Though rumors swirled for weeks that the fellow coaches on NBC's “The Voice” were an item, they waited until the day of the ceremony to confirm their relationship. “Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating,” a rep told Perez Hilton.
Even though Lambert is supposedly OK with her ex moving on, she was hurt that he chose to make his relationship official on her big night. “It was so insensitive, she was with this guy for almost a decade, and this is how he treats her!” the source said. “She feels like she doesn’t even know who he is anymore, she wonders if she ever did.”
Still, Lambert wishes her former husband the best. "She has nothing against Gwen and thinks she is a very talented artist,” an insider told E! Online Wednesday. “Whomever Blake is with she wishes them the best.”
Lambert and Shelton announced their breakup days after the Fourth of July. They said a divorce was “not the future we envisioned” and added: “We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."
