Miranda Lambert’s Husband After Blake Shelton Retires From NYPD, Serves As Her Security Guard

Miranda Lambert’s new husband has retired from the NYPD and is now serving as her security guard.

Lambert’s new husband, Brendan McLoughlin, has resigned from his job as a New York City police officer and is now working for his wife. Detective Sophia Mason, a New York Police Department DCPI spokesperson, confirmed it.

“His current duty status is retired,” Mason told Us Weekly.

Lambert’s spouse had taken an “authorized leave of absence” from the force since July 2019. He has been spotted attending Lambert’s concerts multiple ties in an official security capacity. He was seen wearing an earpiece and scanning the crowd near the stage.

According to Fox News, McLoughlin is now a member of Lambert’s security team. One onlooker said that he was seen monitoring the fans and checking their bags during the “It All Comes Out in the Wash” singer’s concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Feb. 7. Others members of the security team told fans that they were not allowed to take photos with McLoughlin, who was a former cop.

Another witness said that McLoughlin was working with security at Lambert’s concert at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. He was also heard asking fans if they had anything they wanted for his wife to sign.

Lambert was previously married to country singer Blake Shelton. They first shared the stage in 2005 during the CMT 100 Greatest Duets special when they were paired to sing 1981 David Frizzell and Shelly West hit, “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma.” Many noticed that they couldn’t keep their eyes off of each other during their performance, but Shelton was still married to Kaynette Williams at the time.

“I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,” the “Austin” singer later told VH1’s Behind the Music, Rolling Stone reported. “I was a married guy, you know? Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.”

In February 2006, Shelton filed for divorce from Williams and there were rumors that his blossoming romance with Lambert was the reason but both denied it. In May 2011, Shelton and Lambert got married in Texas in a rustic ceremony. In April 2013, there were rumors that their marriage was on the rocks but Lambert denied it. However, in 2015, they announced their divorce.

Shelton is currently dating Gwen Stefani. The “No Doubt” singer just shared a clip of her straddling her boyfriend on stage during Las Vegas concert when Shelton made a surprise appearance.
