"Mission: Impossible 7" director Christopher McQuarrie recently shared a glimpse of Tom Cruise performing a dangerous stunt on a speeding train during the filming of the eagerly anticipated movie.

McQuarrie took to Instagram on Monday and wrote, "What would Mission be without a bit of local color?" In the photo, Cruise can be seen hanging off from a moving train.

"Our sincerest thanks to North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the Office for Road and Rail, Eddie Draper, Riley’s & GB Rail Freight and, of course, the incredibly lovely and welcoming people of Levisham," he captioned the photo.

"We had an amazing week (and remarkably fair weather) in fabulous Yorkshire," he concluded. "We’ll be back for one last bit of mischief in short order. #MI7MI8."

Besides directing the movie, McQuarrie, 52, had previously served as a screenwriter in 2018's "Mission: Impossible - Fallout," starring Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson and Henry Cavill.

Cruise, 58, made headlines last month for scolding his own crew for not following COVID-19 safety protocols correctly. Since then, the production of the movie has been done quietly without creating much buzz in the media.

The movie has been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic multiple times. The action-pack adventure was initially announced on Jan. 14, 2019, and "Mission: Impossible 7" was scheduled to release on July 23, 2021, while the next installment, "Mission: Impossible 8" was supposed to release on Aug. 5, 2022.

However, the dates have been pushed forward. "Mission: Impossible 7" is now slated to release on May 27, 2022, and after 45 days it will stream on Paramount+. On the other hand, "Mission: Impossible 8" will release in 2023.

The last movie released from the “Mission: Impossible” franchise grossed $791 million worldwide and broke the 2011's "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" record of being the highest-grossing movie in the franchise.

Besides the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, the actor will be seen in "Top Gun: Maverick," which was originally scheduled for July 2, 2021 release but later pushed to Nov. 19, 2021.

The action-adventure is helmed by Joseph Kosinski and the screenplay is penned by McQuarrie, Ashley Miller, Peter Craig, Justin Marks, Ehren Kruger, Zack Stentz and Eric Singer.
