‘Modern Family’ Star Rico Rodriguez Comments On Sofia Vergara, Joe Manganiello Engagement At 2015 SAG Awards

Joe Manganiello has “Modern Family” star Rico Rodriguez’s stamp of approval! Sofia Vergara’s on-screen son revealed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet that Vergara and Manganiello have his blessing on their engagement.

“I met him before all that went down,” the 16-year-old actor dished. “[Joe Manganiello] had visited the set when we were filming our Halloween episode.”

Rodriguez added Sofia Vergara wanted him to meet her beau, and the “True Blood” alum was “such a cool guy.”

“I approve,” Rodriguez said.

Vergara, 42, and Manganiello, 38, reportedly got engaged on Christmas while vacationing in Hawaii with family. The couple has yet to comment on the engagement, but the actress was photographed with a gorgeous (and large) diamond ring on her finger.

“Modern Family is nominated for four awards at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Nominations include Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Comedy Series, Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Comedy Series -- Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet and Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Comedy Series -- Julie Bowen.
