  • "Montero" is slated to release on Sept. 17
  • Lil Nas X's fans think he went too far this time
  • Nas X also didn't refrain from replying to hateful comments

Lil Nas X flaunted a fake baby bump Thursday to promote and announce his upcoming music album "Montero." The post, however, didn't go well with the netizens.

"SURPRISE! I can’t believe I’m finally announcing this. My little bundle of joy “MONTERO” is due September 17, 2021," he wrote on Twitter along with photos of his baby bump.

Twitter users didn't appreciate the 22-year-old singer's pretentious pregnancy and bashed him.

"Dr. Umar said they will use lgbtq to distract us from black civil rights and then they birthed lil nas x who is just a puppet for whatever label he is signed to," one commentator noted.

Nas X also didn't refrain from replying to the hateful comments.

"Oh yes, a pregnant ni--a, the greatest threat to black civil rights," the singer responded.

In a separate tweet, the singer wrote, "Ni--as be like “you desperate for attention” then proceed to give it to me."

One of the users compared Nas X with people in the entertainment industry belonging to other races including White, Asian, Hispanic or Arab and noted how these "communities would not tolerate anything like that. Black people sooner or later we are going to make an example out of black."

The singer replied, "One day y’all will learn I am not a representation of anyone but Lil Nas X."

The singer kept receiving negative comments and he went offline saying, "Let me get offline, all of this negative energy is not good for the baby."

This particular tweet also wasn't taken well by many Twitter users including his fans and they took to the comments section to respond to the singer's tweet.

"Hi, I love you, really, but I don't think this is a way to handle criticism, especially not this kind," One of the users wrote. "When women point out something is misogynistic, you listen and learn. but mostly you don't laugh at them like this. I hope you get to think again about this."

"Stop using pregnancy as a prop to make money as a woman I don't appreciate and find it offensive," another user wrote.

A fan wrote, "There were other ways you could have chosen to promote your album. You'll never know what we as women endure when bringing a baby into this cruel world. The labor pains, swollen feet, the weight gain.....etc."

Since the hate comments flooded his Twitter handle, the singer stopped tweeting but started retweeting those posts that were in his favor.

On the work front, the singer will drop his new music album on Sept. 17.
