Murdered Woman’s Family 'Requests' Killer To Reveal Where He Dumped Her Body
KEY POINTS

- The police found out the convict wore a Halloween skull mask while striking her
- Bloodstains were found all over Alan Edwards' apartment
Family members of a woman, who was killed by her boyfriend in the U.K. in 2019, are pleading with the murderer to reveal where he disposed of her remains.
Alan Edwards, 48, who wore a Halloween skull mask while murdering Susan Waring, 45, has been jailed for life by a U.K. court.
While appealing to Edwards, the victim's brother, Peter Waring, read out in court a personal statement on behalf of the family: "One final request and that is for Alan Edwards to tell us where our beloved Susan is so we can lay her to rest and finally have some closure," Sky News reported.
Edwards claimed Waring had kissed him goodbye before disappearing on Jan. 30, 2019, and that he had not seen her since.
However, a search conducted at Edwards' flat in Darwen revealed bloodstains in the living room, glass panel, front door, furniture, walls and bathroom among other objects, media outlet LancsLive reported. The defendant had redecorated the apartment to cover his tracks, the jury was told.
The police also recovered a rubber Halloween skull mask, which had more than 100 blood spots and traces of Waring's DNA, BBC reported. An analysis of the skull mask proved Edwards had worn the mask when he assaulted her.
The court was told Edwards preyed on Waring, who was blind in one eye, suffered poor health and had learning difficulties. He was constantly abusive and violent toward her.
It also came to light that Edwards, while appealing via social media for Waring to return or to make contact with him after her "disappearance," had visited the hook-up website flirtymoms.com with "increasing regularity." However, Edwards said he was "just browsing" and it was "something to pass the time, waiting for Susan."
While sentencing him to life, Justice James Goss said Edwards had been "controlling and violent" during his "brief relationship" with Waring, BBC reported.
"You murdered Susan Waring, [though] precisely what you did and how is known only to you. Susan Waring was a small, underweight, vulnerable 45-year-old woman. She was blind in one eye, suffered from poor health and had learning difficulties. There is no doubt she was frightened of and dominated by you," the justice said.
During the trial, four other women gave statements against Edwards about his violent tendencies. The court also found him guilty of offenses against these women, including causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats to kill.
