"My 600-lb Life" star Gina Marie Krasley has died. She was 30 years old.
The TV personality passed away Sunday at her home in Tuckerton, New Jersey, surrounded by family, according to her obituary. Her cause of death was not revealed.
Following the news of her death, TLC paid tribute to Krasley, writing on Twitter, "TLC was deeply saddened by the loss of Gina Krasley, who shared her weight-loss journey on 'My 600lb Life.' Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time."
According to her obituary, Krasley was born in Galloway, New Jersey, and lived in Forked River, Barnegat and Tuckerton in the last six years.
Krasley's "greatest passion was dancing and she would make up dances with her sister and kids in the neighborhood growing up," it continued.
"She started the 'dancing has no size limit' Tiktok trend and she dreamed of one day opening up a dance studio for special needs children. Gina once appeared in a movie when she was younger called 'Walking to the Waterline' and she enjoyed playing video games and spending time with her family," the obituary said.
Krasley is survived by her wife of six years Elizabeth Krasley, mother Cathy Devereux, sister Ali Samuels and brother-in-law Keith Samuels, all of whom appeared on "My 600-lb Life." She also leaves behind her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, her dog Bubba and cat Daisy.
Following her passing, her family encouraged donations to mental health charities in honor of Krasley.
Krasley appeared on "My 600-lb Life" Season 8, episode 5, which aired in January 2020.
During her episode, she shared that her struggles with weight began as a child, when she turned to food as a source of comfort.
"My life’s been hard," Krasley explained. "The first thing I remember was my older sister, Ali, getting diagnosed with agoraphobia when I was 7 and she was 11. I felt like all of my mom’s attention was on my sister, so I always felt my whole life like I was always, like, pushed under the rug."
She continued, "I got really jealous of my sister, and I remember what made me forget that pain of being abandoned was eating — and by the time I was 10, I was already over 150 pounds."
The episode also followed her relationship with her wife Beth and the strain that her health put on the couple’s home life.
"I'm ruining any chance I have for a future all because I can’t stop eating," Krasley was quoted by Us Weekly as saying, before telling the cameras, "If I don’t do anything now, it’s just gonna get worse and I’m going to die."
