Mystery X-Rated Banner Flew Across England: 'Find The Cl*t'
KEY POINTS
- An explicit banner was flown across the English city of Leeds last week
- The company behind the stunt wants people to start talking about "female pleasure"
- The company's owner plans to do more campaigns
An adult toys and accessories company has come forward and claimed responsibility for an X-rated banner that flew over West Yorkshire, England last week — a stunt intended to get the ball rolling on discussions about female pleasure.
The banner, which read "It's not that hard to find the cl*t," was pulled across the sky of the English city of Leeds last Thursday, Leeds Live reported. A number of areas were able to witness the sign referencing the female organ, according to the outlet.
Adult brand Naked Grapefruit has revealed that it was behind the stunt in a post on Instagram that had the caption, "May or may not have flown a plane over Leeds. Anyway, Brad, it’s not that hard to find the cl*t."
Company owner Vic claimed "the aim of the campaign is to get people talking about female pleasure" as well as to "normalize the topic and make it a part of everyday conversation."
Naked Grapefruit, which Vic started two years ago, allegedly interpreted the idea of "missing cat posters" around Leeds for people to get involved in the hunt to find the female body part.
The company said the concept was that the organ is not that hard to find.
"The joke was that it is so easy to find," Vic, whose vision is to build Naked Grapefruit into a brand that normalizes women talking about sex, was quoted as saying.
"[Women] don't orgasm during sex, and that's something we need to talk about. Men talk about it so why can't women. It's something we all do, why be ashamed?" she explained.
The scandalous campaign, which Vic hoped would make women feel more confident, reportedly sparked discussions among people, especially students located in Leeds' Hyde Park area.
Naked Grapefruit wanted to send the message to young people because the topic would become more "normal" the earlier it is put into conversations.
Vic plans to do more campaigns, but she did not disclose any additional information on what they would be. The only difficulties she experienced in her campaigns so far were the restrictions around her X-rated wording being exposed, she explained.
