Naomi Watts Stars In Netflix’s ‘Gypsy’ Trailer As Manhattan Therapist [WATCH]
Netflix just dropped the official trailer for the upcoming series, “Gypsy,” starring Naomi Watts.
In the almost two-minute clip, Watts gives life to her Manhattan therapist character, Jean Holloway. The teaser opens with Jean talking to one of her patients. She asks him to imagine that he’s talking to Sydney, and he does as he is told. The patient tells “Sydney” that he misses her, and Jean responds by telling him that she feels the same way.

According to Deadline, “Gypsy” will center on Jean as she develops intimate and illicit relationships with those closest to her patients. At one point, Jean will find it difficult to separate her personal and professional lives from the other, and this is where the biggest conflicts will begin.
Also in the clip, Jean hooks up with both men and women. At one point, her husband confronts her and asks if she’s starting to become emotionally attached to her patients again. Jean also talks to her fellow therapists, who seem concerned by the things she’s been doing.
Towards the end of the clip, a very confused Jean starts taking pills. She also acts strangely towards her patients. A man tells her to get her act straight or risk getting into more trouble. “I think our time’s up,” she tells one her patients before the clip shows the title of the series.
“Gypsy” will premiere on Netflix on June 30, and the series will have a total of 10 episodes. The series was filmed in New York and was helmed by “Fifty Shades of Grey” director Sam Taylor-Johnson. The project is produced by Working Titles’ Liza Chasin, Lisa Rubin, Watts and Rudd Simmons, according to Deadline.
Other cast members for “Gypsy” include Billy Crudup as Jean’s husband Michael Holloway, Sophie Cookson as Sydney, Melanie Liburd as Michael’s assistant, Lucy Boynton as Allison, Karl Glusman as Sam, Poorna Jagannathan as Jean’s co-worker and more.
Meanwhile, Academy Award nominee Watts also stars in Colin Trevorrow’s upcoming movie, “The Book of Henry.” The actress will give life to the role of a single mother named Susan Carpenter who works as a waitress.
