To complete an already eventful year for a pregnant Natalie Portman, 30, the actress and her fiancé, choreographer and director Benjamin Millepied, 33, have welcomed a baby boy. It's definitely a birthday week for the Portman-Millipied's, as Portman celebrated a birthday of her own on June 9.
It seems 2011 brought the actress lots to celebrate. Even @LindsayLohan tweeted 'congrats to #natalieportman for her beautiful baby boy.' @IMilaKunis also sent a tweet out, stating: 'Congrats to my friend #NataliePortman because she is a mom now.'
Portman and Millepied met during the production of 'Black Swan,' a role that won Portman several awards, including an Oscar. Millepied was Portman's dance partner in the film.
Millepied was born in Bordeaux, France, to a mother who was a principle dancer with the New York City Ballet. Millepied recently co-directed a French film in Paris called Time Doesn't Stand Still, which Millepied states isn't a dance film.
This year, at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, Portman took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for 'Black Swan.'
The film garnered her several other awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama. Portman also won a Golden Globe in 2005 for her supporting role in the film Closer.
That same year, Portman was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Closer but she lost to Cate Blanchett for Aviator.
Portman gained recognition after her powerful performance in her first feature film, Leon: The Professional (1994), in which she played a 12-year-old who lives with and assists a professional assassin after her parents are killed.
Some other notable films of Portman's career include, V for Vendetta (2006) and Garden State (2004, starring Zach Braff). She can be seen in her most recent film, Thor, which is currently in theatres.
