2004 NBA champ Richard Hamilton says “Master” Carmelo Anthony could really be helpful for LeBron James and Anthony Davis in LA.

A few days ago, Anthony just provided some updates regarding his status with the Brooklyn Nets particularly, with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. According to the 10-time All Star, his relationship with Durant and Irving is “bigger than basketball” as they are family. Anthony also said that everybody would know if something happens between him and the Nets in the future.

And just recently, “Rip” Hamilton, a member of the 2004 NBA Finals champs Detroit Pistons, said that Anthony should be playing in the league right now. Hamilton even noted that Anthony is “Master” especially for the younger guys in the NBA because of the moves he does on the floor.

“I think he should be in the league right now. He’s “Master”,with some of the moves that he do on the floor so I think he should get another chance,” Hamilton told TMZ Sports.

Hamilton also believes that James and Anthony’s friendship could still be the key for Anthony to land with the Lakers. He even said that Anthony could really be “helpful” for what the Lakers have right now.

“I know, I think it’s still a possibility it could happen, they’ve been talkin’ about (it) for a long time. When you think about what the Lakers have right now, Melo’s the guy that could really be, you know “helpful” playing with LeBron and knowing AD’s game and stuff like that,” Hamilton pointed.

The NBA champ added that a guy like Anthony can close out games, which makes him a “good piece” for the Lakers.

“He’s a vet, and he’s the guy that can close the game so he’d be a good piece for the Lakers,” Hamilton added.

Hamilton’s former rival and another NBA champ Stephen Jackson had a different take on Anthony’s case. According to Jackson, the former Knicks star is being “blackballed” by the NBA.

“They (NBA) trying to blackball Melo. Why? The season just starting, why they coming up and saying ‘your time with the team is almost up,’ and the season’s just starting? You see what I’m saying? They trying to blackball Melo and push him out of the league and make sure it looks like he can’t play no more, or make sure it looks like every team he goes to he’s a problem or he’s a cancer on the team in the locker room. Which is so far from being true,” Jackson pointed

It has been a month since Anthony revealed that the LA Lakers is one of the teams he and his reps have been reaching out to this summer.

“We’re reaching out, we’re talking, there’s dialogue with certain teams. I don’t want to get into specifics, but there’s conversations,” Anthony told Stephen A. Smith of ESPN.

However, Anthony is still unsigned at this point.
